A Community of Stitchers – Bring Your Own Hand Embroidery Project

This event is an opportunity for new stitchers to reconnect with members of our Chapter. There is no project provided – this is a “bring your own” event. There will be no direct instruction in hand embroidery, but there will be lots of encouragement from our members to our new stitchers! Please bring the project you started at one of our events and finish it, or bring a new project you want to start, and ask for guidance.

It is open to any GBA-EGA member, any community member who wants to stitch with us, and any past-participants in our For the Love of Stitching - Learn to Stitch program, ages 8 to adult, any age.

Members of our Guild are planning to attend to stitch alongside you, to work on a project of their choice, but also to answer your questions or give you encouragement. This event is designed as another way to connect with our Chapter and expand our community of stitchers. Come one and all!

Learn to Hand Embroider Program – Save the Date!

Date: February 20, 2027
(Weather back-up date February 27, 2027)
Time: Half-day, exact times TBD
Where: Pamperin Branch of the Brown County Library System, Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin
Registration will likely be free, but participants may be asked to bring a very few supplies of their own. This event will be part of the Library’s Winter Program.

In this half-day instructional program, we will welcome two levels of stitchers:

1. Those who have never taken a course with GBA-EGA may join us for Level 1.
2. Those who participated in a course with the GBA-EGA in 2026, are invited to join us for Level 2.

Level 1: Introduction to hand embroidery: Learn three common embroidery stitches and complete (or get a good start on) a small floral pattern.

Level 2: Expand your repertoire of embroidery stitches, learn more about fabric, and how to finish your work. A pattern is included for you to transfer onto fabric, and Guild members will lead you in at least three new stitches.

Registration will be handled through the library, and open in a few weeks. We will have a limit to how many stitchers we can register, so please save the date now, and plan to register when the details are sent to you in a few weeks! Registration information will be right here when open.
